Horsemanship Training Clinics

The best trainer your horse will ever have is YOU & some of the best friends you will ever have
will be the people you meet at a clinic!

Level I - "Respect & Partnership"

This is an intensive 4-day course designed to transform you into the leader that your horse needs you to be.  Learn how powerful love, communication and leadership can be in developing trust, respect and safe behavior on the ground and in the saddle.  The course is taught in 2 weekends sessions, with 2-3 weeks between sessions.  This assures your understanding and absolute success!  Students receive 24 hours of live coaching; a written course outline; and "online" discussion forums to support your learning, including previous students, advanced students, and professionals in the industry. Students are introduced to free-style riding techniques during the last two days of the clinic.

Level II - "Trust & Liberty"

This is a 3-day course that provides in-depth discussions and demonstrations about equine psychology and behavior-shaping training methods.  Students learn how to create a training plan and up-date the plan, specific to their horse.  Students put their leadership to the test by working their horses on longer lines, at liberty, and with more challenging obstacles.  The focus of the course is riding in a variety of settings, and resolving problems under saddle.  Students are introduced to bareback freestyle riding and the use of a natural hackamore.  Participation includes live coaching; a written course outline; and "on-line" discussion forums.

Level II courses are generally held as weekend retreats so that learning is on-going throughout the sessions.

"Problems & Progress" for Level II or III students:

This one-day course is designed to keep students "on-track" and focused.  While most students experience great success with ground exercises; riding skills are often much more challenging.  Put your skills and your horse to the test and find out what works and what needs fixing in order to move onto the next level of horsemanship.  Pre-requisite: Level I skills; considering Level II or Level III.

"Riding Naturally" Part I

This one-day course introduces students to developing their natural riding skills.  Class size is very limited to assure individual attention and safety.  Pre-requisite: Level I is strongly recommended.

"Riding Naturally" Part II

This 2-day course is an intense riding program where students learn how to solve confidence and behavior issues under saddle.  Ride with fluid movement; learn how to use "mirroring" to resolve problems; ride with leadership to develop trust, willingness and respect.  Class size is very limited in order to assure individual attention and safety.  Pre-requisite: Level I is strongly recommended.

"De-Spooking Naturally"

Do you measure time by your horse's next melt-down? Learn how to create curiosity and confidence in this one-day course by preventing disasters through partnership.  Level I ground skills will be used in the first half of the class.  Students will learn how to stay with their horse during a spook through improved focus and specific skills.  Pre-requisite: Level I is necessary.

"Problem Solving Naturally"

This one-day course is a "smorgasbord" of problems and solutions. Learn how powerful the methods of natural horsemanship are.  This course is open to everyone.  Bring your horse and let's work out a plan to resolve the problem!  From biting to rearing - anything goes!! NO pre-requisite requirements.

"Riding Naturally II"

This is a 1-day course designed as a continuation of the Riding Naturally I program.  Students learn refinement techniques in bridle, as well as more freestyle riding techniques, including use of the training string as reins. Cantering is required.  Pre-requisite: Level II  and Riding Naturally I program is required.  Some riding is done in an open field.

Level III - "Ultimate Trust"

Refine your communication and leadership skills to achieve the ultimate trust of your horse where the impossible turns into reality.  Sit, lay down, and bridle-less riding are involved.  Pre-requisite: Level I & Level II course.

"Mobile Training"

At this time, Lisa only offers mobile training services.  Training sessions are a minimum of 2 hours, conducted at your farm or facility by appointment.  Owner participation is essential to maintain the training results.   Training focuses on gaining respect while building trust & confidence. Training sessions develop the horse mentally, as well as athletically, to produce a quiet, capable & focused horse. Due to the travel time involved, mobile training clients are limited
